Water dripping, recorded in 2 microphone and preamp configurations:
MS30/40 → FR2LE
MS30/40 → MixPre → FR2LE
Conclusion:
FR2LE has very quiet preamps. It behaves the best when input gain is at about 75-80%. A little noisy at the top of its range. But just a little.
None of these recordings were normalized.
